Lab Facilities
The Agricultural Communications and Journalism program is home to a variety of state-of-the-art media production labs that faculty, staff and students can use to create print, visual and digital communication artifacts.
Curl Media Lab: The Curl Media Lab is a conference, meeting or workspace for 24. The lab has a long conference table and a large video screen. It is audio and webcam enabled for video conferencing. The lab also has two editing and testing bays that have the full Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
Fusion Radio Studio: A former FM radio production studio, the Fusion Radio Studio provides multiple microphone connections and recording capabilities perfect for 2-way communication, podcast recording, interviewing and more. The studio also includes mixing boards, an editing bay and a connected landline in a sound-proof space.
Video Studio: A fully equipped video and photo studio with blackout walls and space for 24. The studio has photo capabilities, a 3-camera digital capture system, a 77-inch mounted screen and a raised floor providing points for electrical and internet connectivity.
Recording Booth: A small self-service, sound-proof booth for recording scripts, voiceovers, podcast narratives and other audio. Those using the booth can record to the connected computer (bring a flash drive) or connect their laptop to the audio setup, which includes a microphone and channel mixer.
Editing and Design Bay: A 3-monitor system (PC/Windows) with the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Wacom tablet and audio output installed and connected. Perfect for editing in Audition, Premiere, InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop where visual or editing control is needed.
